It isn’t really the holiday season until the Toronto Christmas Market begins! It has been named one of the World’s 10 Best Holiday Markets, recognized as one the best holiday travel destinations, best of all it’s a short walk away from us in the beautiful Distillery District.
If you’ve never been to the market before, you’ve really been missing out! There are so many quality handcrafted goods for sale and it’s a great spot to pick up gifts for your nearest and dearest. The vendors are a mix of Ontario’s best craftspeople, artists, food stalls, and other world-class vendors. It’s an immersive environment with a mix of things available for sale. You’ll find so many beautiful handmade ornaments, handcrafted wooden toys, trinkets, and candles. Also, be sure to come hungry! There are so many great food vendors offering a variety of International and Canadian food along with roasted nuts, grilled sausages and – of course – mulled wine.
On top of all the vendors, there’s also a lot of entertainment planned! From all sorts of live music and the chance to visit Santa (there are even sessions for your pet!), there’s something for everyone in the family. You can find a full schedule of performances and a list of vendors on their website.
One big difference from this year over past years is that a small admission fee will be charged on weekends. The market will remain free from Tuesday to Friday (it’s closed on Mondays) and it will be $5.00 for visitors to attend on weekends. The admission fee is to help reduce the size of the crowds and lineups on the weekend since it’s become immensely popular. Believe us, it’s entirely worth it!
