Toronto is lucky to have some great spots to catch a great view of the city. Many of them are also ideal places to catch a stunning sunset within the city. From various spots along the water to some of the beautiful parks that Toronto has to offer, there’s no shortage of great spots to catch a sunset if you’re lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time.
I think it’s safe to say that winter is finally over. There were a few false starts, but after the most recent spell of warm weather we think it’s safe to say the best is surely yet to come. When the sun starts shining, the desire to get outside and soak it in is all you can think about. The feeling of sitting in the warmth, among friends, with a cold brew in hand is truly the best part of summer in the city. This certainly explains why Toronto’s patios fill up in the blink of an eye on any given day – specifically the blue-skied ones.

If you love coffee as much as we do then you need to come to our neighbourhood. We’re lucky to have some of the best cafés in the city located a short walk away from our site. They’re the perfect spot to meet up with a friend, do some studying, or settle in with a good book. We’re pretty lucky to have so many amazing restaurants nearby. Between all of them and St. Lawrence Market so close to us, we’re basically in a foodie’s paradise. There’s certainly no shortage of amazing tastes to be experienced in the neighbourhood and new restaurants are opening every month!
It isn’t really the holiday season until the Toronto Christmas Market begins! It has been named one of the World’s 10 Best Holiday Markets, recognized as one the best holiday travel destinations, best of all it’s a short walk away from us in the beautiful Distillery District.

How sweet is it to have such a great beach so close to home? Sugar Beach is by far the most popular urban beach in the city, if not for its signature pink umbrellas then for its close proximity to downtown and most importantly, our neighbourhood.
The beach officially opened in 2010 after landscape architect (and friend of Cityzen) Claude Cormier’s design was complete. At the foot of Lower Jarvis Street you’ll find 36 cotton candy-coloured umbrellas and 150 white Muskoka chairs on the sand, a splash pad, the iconic striped rocks, and a tree-lined promenade. If you haven’t made the trip yet, be sure to head there before summer’s over!
