There is no better feeling than laughing so hard your sides hurt. Better yet – laughing so hard you’re weeping. Thankfully there are plenty of TV shows, movies, and YouTube videos that keep us in stitches year round. But nothing beats live comedy from the greats themselves. Live comedy is the best because it perfectly combines excitement, laughter, and fear – fear of being singled out in the crowd – together to create an amazing evening. This Fall marks the return of Toronto’s JFL42 Comedy Festival. Here’s everything you need to know. Continue reading
As summer is drawing to a close, you may be a little sad that the days of summer festivals are behind us. One of the things that we love about our area is that it is so rich with history. It features many buildings that have stood the test of time and it’s wonderful being able to spot them as you wander around the area. Of course, one of those buildings that we hold dear is St. Lawrence Market and love having it close by.
We’ve already taken a look back at some of the history behind it, but go back in time with us and see what it was like at St. Lawrence Market and the surrounding area in the 1970s and 80s.
We’re constantly counting our blessings for having such an amazing place to shop for local produce and other products, so close to home. The St. Lawrence Market is a staple in the community and one of the best places to spend your Saturday morning buying groceries! That being said, with all these amazing and unique products at your fingertips, sometimes it can be hard to think of what to cook them up with. That’s why this week we’re going to share some of our favourite food blogs with you – to make it easier to put those St. Lawrence Market purchases to good use! Continue reading

We can’t believe Front Street Foods is back already! It seems like just yesterday when we moseyed on over to grab a bite at the inaugural food event in front of the newly renovated Union Station last year. The Front Street Foods market brings together some of the best restaurants, chefs, and foodies to give Torontonians a taste of their talent. Although the market has moved to a new location this year – on the second floor terrace of Adelaide Place – the food is just as delicious and the venue is just as packed!
If you haven’t had the chance to pop by yet, head there tomorrow for lunch! Here are a few dishes you’ll be able to try: Continue reading
Toronto is lucky to have some great spots to catch a great view of the city. Many of them are also ideal places to catch a stunning sunset within the city. From various spots along the water to some of the beautiful parks that Toronto has to offer, there’s no shortage of great spots to catch a sunset if you’re lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time.
Union Station is the place to be this summer!
Ever since construction on the public plaza out front of the station was finished up last year, Union Station has been a hub for some awesome summertime events. Last year, Front Street Foods took over the space for an awesome food festival-esque event where people who lived or worked nearby could grab a bite to eat and look around. This year they’ve moved to University and Adelaide, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t another market taking its place! The Union Summer Market can now be found right outside Union Station’s front doors, and will be open 7 days a week until the first week of September. Continue reading
Berczy Park has a special place in the hearts of everyone who lives in our neighbourhood. It could be because of its proximity to the iconic Flatiron Building, or maybe people just love having a greenspace so close to home where they can sit and enjoy the day. You’ve probably noticed that the park has been under construction recently, and that’s because our good friend Claude Cormier and his team have designed a new park that will completely revitalize the space.
We recently caught up with Cormier to talk about Berczy Park and what inspired his design for it. Take a look: Continue reading
