Toronto is known for its diversity. This is one of the greatest characteristics of our city. Torontonians themselves are diverse, as is our culture as a city. But another thing that’s diverse in Toronto? Our restaurants! No matter where you are in the city, you’re just a stone’s throw away from an amazing culinary experience. Whether it’s the new hottest restaurant, or an old faithful, Toronto restaurants have a lot to offer. While you may still be in Canada, you’ll be able to enjoy food from around the world! Winterlicious started a week ago and the list of participating restaurants is impressive.

While we’d love to check them all out, here’s an overview of some of the top spots in our neighbourhood.

In this bright and unique space you’ll be able to enjoy French classics that have been updated and given Asian and Moroccan influences. Their Winterlicious menu includes delights such as duck confit pot pie, delicious chickpea and sweet potato tagine, and a vast selection of mouth-watering desserts.

Archeo – 31 Trinity Street

Archeo boasts Italian food with a modern twist that offers a menu that changes with the season’s fresh offerings. You can look forward to a Winterlicious menu with house-made pappardelle bolognese, Arctic char, and a bittersweet cocoa cake with tiramisu cream and balsamic caramel.

The atmosphere at Boku Sushi aims to blend the connection between Canadian and Asian culture, with a menu that boasts a wide selection of fresh and unique Japanese cuisine. Enjoy fresh sashimi, inventive rolls, and then top your meal off with matcha creme brulée! Don’t mind if we do!

Basso Pizzeria offers a warm environment where you can enjoy relaxed, yet absolutely delicious home cooked Italian. Look forward to house made gnocci, margherita pizza from their famous wood burning oven, and intriguing desserts like deep fried ice cream or peanut butter and banana bread pudding with Bailey’s creme anglaise. Sounds yum!

This unique urban dining experience comes to you from the culinary students at George Brown College. This year’s Winterlicious menu features lots of options, including steamed mussels, red snapper, and French delicacies from the advanced French patisserie post-grads (so you know it’s going to be great!).

Biagio Ristorane – 155 King Street East

Found right in the St. Lawrence Market, Biagio has been serving elevated northern Italian fare since 1989. This year you can enjoy an elegant menu of Italian classics, such as risotto primavera and Sicilian cannoli.

Le Papillon on Front – 69 Front Street East

For almost 40 years this classic Toronto spot has been serving up delicious French cuisine. This Winterlicious they’ll be featuring tasty options like grilled mahi mahi, braised lamb shank, and a duck confit that is to die for.

The Sultan’s Tent & Cafe – 49 Front Street East

At the Sultan’s Tent you’re in for a traditional night of French Moroccan ambience and cuisine. The menu features traditional eats, such as their signature maftoul, a lamb or chickpea tagine, and all the delicious spices of Morocco!
