Taste Your Way Through Winterlicious 2016

It’s baaaack!

Twice a year, Toronto restaurants come together to offer people who live, work, or are visiting the city to enjoy some of their best dishes at a discounted, prix fixe price. This event is a little something we like to call Winterlicious (and it’s Summerlicious is in the summer, of course). Winterlicious is the perfect time to try a restaurant you’ve been thinking about checking out, or picking somewhere random to be pleasantly surprised for a great price.

Winterlicious 2016 is running from January 29th to February 11th and reservations are already open! There are a handful of stellar restaurants around our area that are participating this year, so if you want to get a little taste of our neighbourhood we highly recommend booking a reservation ASAP.

Here’s what’s on the docket for 2016:

Bindia Indian Bistro – 16 Market Street
This Market Street favourite has some of the best Indian food in the city. For Winterlicious this year they’re offering lunch ($18) and dinner ($25) and featuring lots of interesting Indian dishes, many of which are vegetarian. Located right across from the St. Lawrence Market, once you try this place it will become a staple in your life.

Far Niente – 187 Bay Street
In the heart of downtown Toronto is Far Niente. They offer some of the best Mediterranean food  out there and pay much attention to detail in their dishes. On their Winterlicious menu this year you’ll find things like Oatmeal Crusted Trout, Pomegranate Glazed Duck Confit, and Ricotta Ravioli. You can go there for lunch ($28) or dinner ($45).

Biagio Ristorante – 155 King Street E
Italian food lovers will want to check Biagio out at Winterlicious this year. This upscale restaurant has been open since 1989 and is located in the historic St. Lawrence Hall. For Winterlicious they’re offering lunch ($28) and dinner ($45) with a menu full of your favourite Italian dishes!

Harlem – 67 Richmond Street E
This Southern-style restaurant is inspired by the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s. They aim to celebrate Toronto’s cultural diversity through the items on their menu. For Winterlicious this year you can eat lunch ($18) or dinner ($25) there and choose from items like Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles, Caribbean Curried Vegetable Stew, and Candied Plantain for dessert!

O Resto Lounge – 7 King Street E
If you like going to restaurants that care about their drink menu as much as they do their food menu, O Resto Lounge is a good choice. Their lunch menu ($18) and dinner menu ($25) feature completely different dishes for Winterlicious this year, so why not go twice?!

Rosewater – 19 Toronto Street
Rosewater is known for their delicious contemporary cuisine. The two-level restaurant has an elegant atmosphere and is the perfect choice for a Winterlicious dinner ($35), although they do serve lunch ($23) too. This year’s menu includes a number of duck and prawn options, as well as lamb and a goat cheese tart.

Union Station: The history of our transit hub

Union Station is what many people would call the centrepiece of Toronto. The century-old building has always played a large role in our cityscape, being used by tourists and Torontonians alike. It’s the central hub for all things transportation in our city and with a few changes over the last couple of years, it has quickly become one of our favourite places to spend time. Continue reading

St. Lawrence Market: Our Neighbourhood at Night

Walking around the St. Lawrence Market at night is something that every Torontonian should experience. Although the market itself isn’t open into the evening hours, there is still so much going on to explore. With the holiday season underway, our neighbourhood has been even more lit up than usual. We’ve been loving all the Christmas lights on buildings and trees around us! Continue reading

Host Your Friends & Family in our Party Room

Everyone’s favourite condo amenity is always the party room! It’s convenient to have access to a party room in your condo for a number of reasons, primarily because it provides you with an event space at the drop of a hat, can accommodate way more people than your condo can, and keeps the mess out of your own space.

That being said, the party room in our building is not only convenient for those reasons but is super stylish, well designed, and will have your friends and family wishing they lived at 158 Front too.

The party room is equipped with a fridge and freezer where you can store food and drinks for your party, an oven, sink, and lots of counter space for prep. The extra long island leaves room for your guests to sit, but there is also a large dining table in the kitchen area if you’re hosting a full meal. Before or after dinner, you and your guests can hang out in the party room seating area which is well-equipped with comfortable couches and seating. There’s even a fireplace to make it feel extra cozy.

The party room is available for all of our owners to use, but if you’re planning a party around a holiday be sure to check if it’s available and book early!

Ping-Pong & Pool in our Games Room

We love hearing that people are excited for our ten floors of amenities! We’ve already taken you inside a few of our different offerings, like the private movie theatre where you can bring your own popcorn and marathon your favourite flicks, the library where you can curl up and enjoy your newest book or get some work done in peace and quiet, and of course the pool which will have plenty of space for you to lounge, soak up the sun, and enjoy the views of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence Market. The amazing amenities don’t stop there – now it’s time to explore the games room! Continue reading

Host a Movie Night in our Private Theatre

It doesn’t get any better than having your own private movie theatre at home! Who needs a TV when you can project your favourite flick on a big screen? We figured this should be a staple in our building, and guess what? Our movie theatre is only one of ten amenity floors in our building. Continue reading
